FINAL CHAPTER: The ’32 Coupe Musway Audio Build

Five Weeks of Fabrication, Two Years of Planning, and One Incredible Result

What began more than two years ago as a casual conversation between Ray and me about his ’32 Coupe has officially crossed the finish line. This wasn’t just an audio upgrade. It became a full‑scale interior redesign—one that demanded precision, imagination, and a deep respect for the original steel‑body architecture of one of the most iconic hotrods ever built.

From the very first day, the mission never changed: Quality. Serviceability. Form. Fit.
Every panel had to feel factory. Every bracket had to disappear into the car’s natural lines. And every piece of audio gear had to perform like a high‑end home system—warm, detailed, dynamic, and unapologetically musical.

The Build Journey

The project began with a full interior strip‑down and complete plastic sheathing to protect the Coupe’s steel body. Once the car was sealed and safe, I applied a full SoundShield Massive treatment—transforming the raw steel cabin into a quiet, controlled acoustic environment worthy of premium audio.

With the foundation set, I laid the wiring infrastructure for the entire system: amplifiers, DSP, subwoofers, wireless chargers, backup camera, and more. Every route was planned for long‑term serviceability, ensuring future access without disturbing the craftsmanship.

The design phase became a dance between engineering and artistry. I sketched a subwoofer enclosure that flowed with the rumble seat, hugged the rear window line, and maintained the exact internal volume required for the Musway MWS8. From there, the rear deck took shape—housing the Musway FIVE.100+ amplifier, DSP68, and BTA‑HD hi‑res Bluetooth controller beneath the panel, while the top side featured custom‑fit Freedom Charge wireless trays.

Every interior panel was built with a machine‑fastening system so the entire interior can be removed without damage. Great work should be serviceable—not disposable.

Kick Panels, Craftsmanship, and Fitment

Ray wanted the kick panels redesigned to eliminate visible screws. That challenge led to a new two‑piece system:

• Structural Panel — following the original ’32 body lines
• Magnetic Outer Panel — hiding all hardware while perfectly framing the Musway MG6.2A components

Meanwhile, the subwoofer enclosures evolved through nearly 80 pieces of fiberglass mat, followed by multiple layers of finishing work. Every curve, every edge, every wrap line was shaped with intention.

Upholstery & Interior Integration

Choosing the right vinyl became its own project—finding a tone that complemented both the gray and tan shades of the original tweed. Once selected, each panel was patterned, glued, wrapped, and finished with meticulous care.

The subwoofer enclosures required teamwork, and with my wife’s help, we achieved the tight, seamless fit they deserved. The final interior blends original texture with custom craftsmanship—modern function wrapped in classic style.

DSP Tuning: The Heart of the System

With the interior complete, it was time to bring the Musway system to life. The Musway MyCon Smart DSP controller was the perfect finishing touch—its round shape and green backlighting look like they were designed specifically for this Coupe.

Using my RTA rig, I tuned two presets:

• Solo Driving Preset — optimized for Ray behind the wheel
• Cruise/Show Preset — balanced for passengers and events

The goal was simple: make the music feel real. Not clinical. Not “car audio.”
Real. Human. Emotional.
The result rivals high‑end home audio—inside a ’32 steel‑body hotrod.

The Blossom Installations Finish

After the final tuning, I removed the protective sheathing, cleaned every surface, vacuumed every corner, and polished every panel. The Coupe left the shop looking, feeling, and sounding like a true Blossom Installations build—crafted with care, tuned with intention, and built to last.

Five weeks of fabrication. Two years of planning. One unforgettable project.
